The Canadian Music Hall of Fame

Established in 1978 by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), the Canadian Music Hall of Fame is home to such icons as Bryan Adams, The Tragically Hip, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, The Band, Joni Mitchell, Hank Snow, Anne Murray, Oscar Petersen, Bruce Cockburn, and Tom Cochrane. With content provided by CARAS and redesigned by OverDrive Design, The Great Canadian Music Exhibit pays tribute to them all in graphics, video & touchscreen technology. Get up close and personal and test your knowledge of your favourite recording artists at this unique interactive showcase.

The Six String Nation Guitar


The Six String Nation Guitar is the brainchild of Canadian writer, producer & broadcaster, Jowi Taylor. Made from 63 pieces of history and heritage from every part of Canada, it represents the many different cultures, communities and characters that have shaped the country. To hold the Six String Nation guitar is to hold history in your hands. The oldest rock in the world, a seat from Massey Hall, Wayne Gretzky’s hockey stick, Sir John A. MacDonald’s desk are all part of this unique guitar. So far, nearly 50,000 portraits have been taken of people holding this magnificent instrument. Come and add yours to the gallery.
